Liquid putty promotes leveling of the car areas before applying the standard putty on the body. It can be used for fiberglass elements, wood, old steel finishes and joining painted segments with unpainted ones. For paint surfaces, degreasing and removing gloss is necessary.
The product functions include:
- Filling pores and cracks, preventing oxidation processes in metal;
- Covering large dents, places with peeled paint;
- Leveling the shape, helping to “build up” 300-400 microns as a result of spraying 2-3 layers, which is much faster than conducting a similar operation using primer. The thickness of one layer, which adheres well due to the created consistency, is 100 microns, so it is sufficient to apply three layers with a break for drying for 10-20 minutes.
Spraying is done through a spray gun at a temperature of +10°C. There is no sagging with this consistency. The hardener is added to the putty mix in an amount of 3-5%, everything is mixed well and sprayed onto the surface. Despite the smooth surface, after applying the liquid putty, an acrylic primer should be applied. This is due to the different density and quality of coverage of auto products.
Operative drying and further processing implies wet or dry sanding. For this purpose, a water-resistant P600 or P800 paper or sponges, strips for a dry surface are used. The use of a developer improves the quality of sanding.
