The repair mixture is used to strengthen areas damaged by corrosion and to level unevenness in the metal. For cars, these are metal sheets of body parts. The product is suitable for repairing boats, yachts, camping trailers. The operating temperature of restored areas should not exceed + 80˚С.
In order for high-quality adhesion to occur, the treated area must be cleaned, degreased and have a low roughness. Finishes that can crack or chip should be removed.
It is necessary to cut a flap suitable for the place of repair from fiberglass. To eliminate holes and cracks, polyester resin and 2-3 parts of hardener are mixed. The finished product covers the restoration site, then fiberglass is placed on top, which is impregnated with the same mixture. The polymer product has a service life of 8 minutes.
The air temperature in the room should be approximately + 20˚C: its sharp decrease will lead to a small set of mass strength, and an increase – to the plasticity of the upper layer of the mixture. When polymerizing, it is very important to eliminate exposure to sunlight on the repaired part.
It is important that there is a dense application, during which air is removed from the treated area. This is done with the help of a Teflon roller, which tamps the laid mixture. Polymerization is completed after 40 minutes, after which the treated area can be subjected to further mechanical processing. The hardened mixture is not afraid of gasoline, oils, as well as non-aggressive acids and alkalis.
