Car enthusiasts take particular pride in having nice rims. Wheels are the first part of the vehicle that comes into contact with the road, so rocks, sand, and branches on the road can damage the integrity of the coating, causing damage to the rims. Water with chemical agents, after melting snow, also damages wheels as a whole. Side collisions with curbs are also detrimental.
1K auto enamel is capable of effectively painting aluminum and steel surfaces. A single-component acrylic paint is of lower quality than a powder coating, but it does not require separate equipment or high-temperature drying. A large number of shades helps to choose the desired tone and determine the glossy or matte surface. The paint material forms a smooth layer and has significant coverage and impact resistance.
The rims are carefully washed and cleaned, treated with sandpaper, and wiped dry. Primer is used to fill in small cracks and minor defects (this step is unnecessary for stamped discs, so it is skipped). Painting is done with a spray gun or aerosol can held at a distance of 25-30 cm from the surface of the rims. Two thin coats are sufficient for even distribution over the surface. Many drivers believe that only one layer of paint is enough, but manufacturers recommend creating an additional protective coating of lacquer.
